Pink Paloma, Mexico’s Most Beloved Cocktail
A pink paloma is a truly fabulous drink and thankfully I found it. Very little is actually known about the true historical origins of this tequila-based Mexican favorite, but it is a great, refreshing alternative to a margarita. Whether you are a tequila lover or not, a pink paloma is a sweet, sour, salty, slightly bitter cocktail that is delicious, classy and sure to please any dinner guest.
What makes this pink paloma recipe pop is the unexpected addition of grapefruit soda. I prefer to use Izzy’s sparkling grapefruit juice, but other brands will work just fine. Some recipes call for Fresca, Squirt or Jarritos, but to me that makes a different drink all together. Bubbly grapefruit soda mixed with fresh grapefruit and lime juice elevates this drink to a different level making it a new favorite of mine. I do love a pretty drink and a pink paloma is absolutely lovely, plus it is packed with flavor so it can hold up to any strong flavorful foods you may be serving. So, if you are a tequila fan or just looking for a fun easy specialty drink for entertaining, this pink paloma recipe is sure to please.
